Recommendations from Overview and Scrutiny Committee

Consideration was given to the recommendations of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee at its meeting on 10 September 2013 arising from two reviews concerning Media and Communications and Council Agendas, Printing and the Increased Use of IT.
A capital plan evaluation regarding the purchase of tablet devices for Members and senior officers as a fast track item was circulated at the meeting.
The Cabinet resolved that:
1) the recommendations arising from the Overview and Scrutiny Committee reviews of Media and Communications and Council Agendas, Printing and the Increased Use of IT, as set out in paragraphs 1.2.1 and 1.3.1 respectively of the report, be endorsed; and
2) the full Council be recommended to transfer the ‘tablet purchase' scheme from List C of the Capital Plan to List A for implementation during the current financial year 2013/14.
Reasons: As set out in the reports of the Chief Executive to Cabinet and to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee of 10 September 2013.
